Obi-John Kenobi and the Jawa
Thanks to a couple of good friends of mine www.settingmykidsfree.blogspot.com who provided the link to the Jedi robe pattern and www.hoperadio.blogspot.com who is pretty much doing the work for me, my son John will become Obi-John Kenobi and my daughter Jessica will be a Jawa for Halloween this year. BTW - www.degraeve.com/jedirobe/ is the site to obtain the cool Jedi robe pattern. The friends you must obtain yourself.
My kids are so excited! John has been wanting a Jedi costume for over a year. Lately he has been trying to throw large boxes containing sewing machines into my shopping cart while lamenting on the cheap prices of sewing machines in the hopes of expediting the process. When he talks about his upcoming Jedi robes he looks as bouncy and excited as he does when he really needs to pee.
Despite having lost the church's costume contest last year with her Princess Leia costume complete with buns, Jessica is hoping her Jawa garb will seal her victory. Jessica cannot wait to play with yellow or orange LEDs to make the Jawa eyes light up or decorate slippers with tattered shreds of fabric to make the Jawa's shoes; however, she REALLY wants a working Star Wars gun like the Jawas had. I guess her little 7 yo Santa Claus believin' mind just doesn't understand all these things about life yet.
