Starting Over Again
Uggh. Today was the first time I went to the gym in a year. I suffered horrible morning sickness way into the second trimester this last pregnancy and so I quit working out earlier than I had hoped. Now that my new daughter is five months old and the local Y offers homeschool PE for my older two kids, I started working out again today.
I actually like working out, and I believe I started out okay. I did one set of every exercise I use to do at about half to two-thirds the old weight I used. Tomorrow I'll run or Jane Fonda it for 15-20 minutes and hit the weights again during homeschool PE on Tuesday.
The Ys babysitting is cool too. It is so much easier to dump the kids in the PE or the babysitting than deal with them at home!!! If you cannot tell, I have not had a break from the kids since I last worked out a year ago unless you include going to the dentist. Fortunately I find the Y's babysitting mostly acceptable. My oldest has it the best. She got to climb on their rock wall and play very active games. My middle child has the worst scenario. He is a Jedi having to hang out with 2 to 5 year olds watching Winnie-the-Pooh. Had he had his light saber he would have turned to the dark side and killed them all. As it was I had to remind the staff to fast forward the advertising in the beginning. I may need to leave him somewhere else on the days there is no PE. It'll be better when he turns six and can use the force to ascend the rock wall and complete his Jedi training. The baby slept through her stay and will still be happy in a swing when the need arises.
I hope the upcoming muscle soreness isn't severe!
