Priorities

My husband and I constantly spend time and resources on everything except our relationship. Why is this? We both realize our relationship is important. When overlooking various checklists on how to keep a marriage alive, I see that my husband and I cannot check anything off. Despite this, our marriage is not in peril. In fact our marriage has been on the upswing the last couple of years. It is a little weird. Our goals for children, home, and community have really lined up, and our time and investments on these things reinforce support for each other. Aren't we suppose to date though?

Yeah, you are supposed to date. Even us childless people get busy and forget to make time for actual dates.

Isn't Uncle Tom in town? Prepare a fail-safe dinner, put it in the fridge and leave the three rugrats with him. I am reasonably confident he can't damage them in the span of 4 hours (which is enough time for a proper date!).
