Chronicles of John

My son John, age 4, has had a fond interest in natural disaters for quite some time. He was first enamored with volcanoes. We read book after book on volcanoes and even erupted a volcano birthday cake. Now his new and greater love is tornadoes. We have spent many hours learning about tornadoes via library books, documentaries, depictions, and experiments. He has requested a tornado birthday cake for his 5th birthday and I am at a loss of how I am going to manage that one. Today, though, he really made me laugh. While enjoying playing with my new 8 week old daughter with him, he mentioned that her legs looked like "two little cute tornadoes".

Yesterday he received in the mail a set of natural disaster books from his grandmother in Garland. Today we set to write a thank you note. He told me what to write so he could copy it. Here is what he dictated.

Dear Grandma xxxxxx,

Thank you for my books. I am so glad that they have words in them.

Love,

Johnny xxxxxx Jr.
