Mama Put Her Toys Away Early Tonight

7:45 p.m. mom is on her bed. The kids are all in Johnny's room to go to sleep. I was informed that the baby had taken off her diaper again. I stay on my bed b/c there are times you have to just put the kids away for everyone's health. Mom is harried. Every last nerve has been poked at and frayed. The kids will continue to work on my nerves if I keep tending to them, so I don't.

The other adult that rarely resides here shows up and informs me that Johnny put the Boo's diaper back on. I think the kids finally realized there was something more going on with mommy when I didn't tend to their nightly emergencies. Their game of watch what we can make mommy do didn't work tonight.

Little Miss Babycakes hasn't been napping for me during the day. I put her in her crib earlier today for some not so quiet time hoping for a possible nap out of her. Jessica had a friend over at the time that doesn't have a baby in her home. The friend didn't take well to the baby screaming her head off. I explained as best I could how the baby needed to have rest time and didn't want to go to bed. The crying still upset the friend. It upset me too. Babycakes turned it up to full blast today.

Anyway, no nap from the Boo for the past few days plus a number of life stresses took out mommy today and the kids sensed it. It was good for them.

BTW - John is done with his finals.

Sometimes, you just need to make time for Mommy. Get someone to babysit. Go do something fun and without the crew. You need and deserve it.
