Mommy Tried

Every year my daughter (and son) willingly enters a costume contest and every year she (and he) loses. My daughter REALLY wants to win one of these, and this year I thought we had a shot at it. She went dressed as Princess Leia. I even splurged and took her to the hairdresser to get those Princess Leia buns done right with her naturally super-long hair. Well, thhhp. She couldn't even capture third place in the 4 to 6 year old age range. Ugh, how I dislike subjective competitions! (Don't worry. We had a great time at the party!)

The problem is that while Princess Leia is a kicka$$ costume, most of the mommies have never watched the original Star Wars.

Next year, get her a gold cocktail dress, gold go-go boots, a shovel (spray paint gold) and dust her body, face, and hair with gold glitter.

She can go as a gold digger. The other mommies will understand that and she will certainly win first, second, or at least third place!

That would make a great Barbie doll. Gold digger Barbie, I love it!
